Center Stage Sexual Aid: Wicked Aqua Candy Apple Lubricant

November 29, 2012

Each week, The CSPH takes a look at a sexual aid that can be so helpful for some people, that it needs to be highlighted. This week we take a look at Wicked Aqua Candy Apple Lubricant!

How does it work?

Made to imitate the body’s natural juices, Wicked Aqua Candy Apple is a water-based lubricant that comes in a sleek, pump-spout, 4.0 fl oz. bottle that stands about eight inches tall. This particular lubricant is a popular choice for those who want to spice up their oral sexytimes or simply enhance their own fun with a sweet smell due to its many perks. For instance, it is considered vegan, is free of parabens (no allergic reactions!), and is “latex-friendly” since it is water-based.

With a slight apple-flavored smell, this colorless lube doesn’t leave an oily or a slimy feeling at all. However, it is quite runny so be sure to put it in place quickly and rub it in. Like the scent, the taste proves to be quite sweet, and even slightly concentrated at times. Luckily, there is no aftertaste so you can keep your full attention on the slippery fun!

Important things to note:

Unfortunately, the second ingredient listed on the bottle is glycerin. Glycerin can increase the risk of yeast infection and STI transmission as well as irritate sensitive skin; however, that doesn’t mean that it should be thrown out immediately since lubes with glycerin are still safe to use for both vaginal and anal play. In addition, because it is a water-based lubricant, Aqua Candy Apple is perfectly acceptable to use with your sex toys. Your silicone toys, in particular, will thank you since water-based lubes are the only lubes that won’t damage them.

As mentioned before, the lube comes in a black bottle sealed tight in plastic that could easily be mistaken for a lotion bottle due to its pump spout. However, the bottle clearly states that it is a “flavored, water based, intimate lubricant,” so anyone taking a closer look will know its purpose. The bottle is easy to use: turning the pump to the right will open the bottle, while simply turn the pump back to the left will close it.

Keeping it clean:

As a water-based product, Aqua Apple Candy absorbs into the skin, so you can do two things to remove it: rub it into the skin or wash it off with some water. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t have to worry too much about chafing since the lube itself is long-lasting, so the need for reapplication should be sparse during sexy times. The lube also won’t stain your sheets or clothes since it’s water-based, so feel free to be as messy as need be!

In general, Wicked Aqua Apple Candy is a wonderful way to add some flavor to the average romp in the sack. Despite the fact that it does contain glycerin, you—assuming you don’t have skin allergies—can still indulge in its “natural” texture without having to worry about introducing other harmful chemicals to the body. So grab a bottle and relish in its delights!
