TGIF: Week of February 19th, 2016

February 19, 2016
The Posting Maven

Every Friday, The CSPH shares stories that we’ve come across during the week that focus on sex, sexuality, gender, politics, and more! We don’t agree with all of the stories that we find, but we believe that it’s important to share stories and news updates that run contrary to our values as well. Without further ado, here is the roundup for the week of February 19th!

tgif, week of february 19, 2016. IMage shows alan cumming dressed in his caberet constume, sinclair sexsmith smoking a cigar and wearing a black leather chest harness, and a cartoon representation of Dangerous Lilly lab testing dildos.

Pornhub has released a thorough and informational report on their user statistics yet again, this time focusing on the way Valentine’s day altered its users’ porn-viewing habits. The study offers a glimpse into the various desires and routines of folks from different age brackets and genders.

Over at the recently-renamed HuffPost Queer Voices, J.A. Rock discusses the complicated interplay between her kinkiness and her depression. This is a great read for anyone who’s struggled to understand how their sexual identity fits — or doesn’t fit — into their public persona.

Dangerous Lilly reviewed Doc Johnson’s new line of dual-density toys! Though some Doc Johnson toys are not made with body-safe materials, Dangerous Lilly has put the Truskyn dildos through all sorts of tests to confirm that these ones are made out of pure silicone! They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so check-out the review to see if any of them suit your fancy.

Alan Cumming proudly dubbed himself an “intactivist:” his upcoming film, Pigs Without Blankets, seeks to discourage folks with penises from getting unnecessary circumcisions. He’s raised over $12,000 on Indiegogo trying to get the film funded.

Last week, we shared an article from Autostraddle’s new column Bottoms Up! This week we’ve got a flipped perspective. Penned by Sinclair Sexsmith, “View From The Top” details how and when they knew they were a “Top.”

That’s all for this week, folks! Drop by next Friday for another TGIF roundup.
